Millerbernd Laser Receives ISO Certification

September 24, 2010, Winsted, MN –Millerbernd Lighting is ISO 9001:2008 Certified. “ISO certification has been part of our strategy to be the industry choice for high quality lighting products and solutions,” said CEO Brad Millerbernd. “Achieving the ISO standard was a natural evolution for us because of our long-term commitment to our customers and quality products.” Millerbernd Lighting achieved the ISO status from British Standards Institution (BSI), North America's leading management systems registrar, through the re-certification of its sister company’s (Millerbernd Laser) 2009 certification.

Farid Currimbhoy, senior vice president claimed the company’s policies and procedures already in place led to the quick re-certification to include Millerbernd Lighting. “We simply aligned and formalized many of our procedures and processes,” he said. “Our Quality Policy is the cornerstone of what we are about. It provides focus, clear direction to our employees, better organization and efficiency.” Receiving the ISO 9001:2008 certification reinforces Millerbernd Lighting’s commitment to the overall customer experience including quality and on-time delivery of custom lighting solutions. “It’s hard to believe that the ISO standard actually makes us more customer-oriented than before.” Currimbhoy adds, “We now have placed even greater emphasis towards meeting customer requirements and achieving total customer satisfaction.”

The ISO 9001:2008 standard is an internationally recognized quality management system standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). To be certified to this standard, companies must implement a quality management system (QMS) embracing the activities of the company from staff training, to customer interaction, the design and fabrication of products, the purchasing of materials and services and the delivery of the products. This is done using:
