Project Overview:

In 2009 Millerbernd Lighting’s representative, Alliance Lighting, was coordinating a project by a local lighting designer who had the assignment of transforming a waterfront area in Washington, D.C. The goal was to create a unique lighting feature in a rejuvenated multi-use space. Involved from concept to completion, the engineering staff at Millerbernd Lighting worked to refine the vision of the Lighting Designer.

Project Solution:

The vertical Light columns were created in varying heights utilizing stainless steel columns and metal halide lamps that directed lighting into a frosted acrylic cylinder creating a dramatic lighting affect. The sleek custom fixture compliments the design and lighting effect of the entire development project.

Acrylic top cap with bead blasted finish
Spun aluminum top reflector with specular finish
Transition fitter made from stainless steel with flat-head fasteners
70 WATT, T-6 (ANSI M139) Metal halide lamp with porcelain lampholder
304 Stainless Steel with bead blast finish
UL Listed for “wet locations”

Project Result:

The final design was approved and then incorporated into the lighting package. Millerbernd’s custom solution exceeded the aesthetic and architectural requirements as envisioned by the designer.
